Free Medical Dictionary

This bare-bones program delivers on its promise, but you can just as easily use the Internet to find the same information. Free Medical Dictionary’s ad-supported interface displays medical definitions drawn from various Web sites. You can get the same information, word for word, by searching certain government-based medical sites–and you won’t have to look at Google ads. The program’s only other feature is a Web Search button. If Free Medical Dictionary could function without the Internet, we could be a bit more enthusiastic about it. However, since it requires a Web connection to function, it’s just as easy to cruise the Net. Still, since it is free, medical students and researchers who need a quick reference tool might find some benefit.
