Our only other complaint is that we’ve seen similar programs that allow users to download videos from a variety of Flash video sites, such as Hulu and Dailymotion, in addition to YouTube. BitComet

Taking a slightly different approach to solving the multimedia lover’s dilemma of how best to download torrents is BitComet, which uses an interface heavily cribbed from Windows Explorer–with a dose or two from the basic BitTorrent template–to create something instantly recognizable to the user.
There’s a familiar tree of features on the left, including links to torrent-aggregating Web sites and several promotional offers. The top of the app has big buttons with familiar icons, the center window shows the files being downloaded, and the bottom pane has tracker and peer info. The pane on the right rounds out the layout, with a torrent search feature and advertising. Among the usual features, BitComet offers chat capabilities, the ability to bookmark your favorite sites, a toolbar for Internet Explorer 7, and a context menu for Firefox 2.
While the app held its own against better-known competitors in terms of speed and handling multiple torrents, we found the ubiquitous advertisements to be annoying compared to the competition’s ad-free environs. Overall, we think BitComet is worth trying and could become a major torrent app in the future.

In our comparison tests, Free Download Manager beat out Opera’s download manager 85Kbps to 53Kbps. Its automation features also are very good. Like other managers, it can automatically dial a modem, start a download, or shut down the PC. Unlike many of them, it also can change the number of connections depending on download speed, or disconnect and shut down the computer if a file is unavailable.
If you want to boost your download speed for free, this utility is certainly worth a try.

Rapid Typing Tutor allows users to see no more than a few characters ahead. And since the speed of the scroll depends on the speed of the typist, those who are already fairly quick may find that the blur of text flying across the screen is hard to process visually. Users who are just getting familiar with the keyboard layout likely won’t be bothered by this, but they may grow increasingly frustrated as their speed increases.

In addition, the program has a Help file waiting to be utilized, and anything highlighted in blue on the screen is a click away from a pop-up window with user hints. Operating the Quran Auto Reciter was pleasantly simple, with excellent results. The centerpiece of the program is scheduling five automated prayer reminders. Using simple pull-down calendars, users set the time to automatically recite Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. In addition, playing crystal clear lectures and readings from the Koran is as simple as selecting a choice from the menu and hitting the Play button.
The program’s special features are basic and provide depth to the overall package, which we really enjoyed. Users can read the Koran in several different languages, which was easy to access and utilize. In addition, users can schedule a lecture or reading to automatically play using the same calendaring function as the prayers. Quran Auto Reciter is an excellent program for users who want to hear the reading and schedule them to fit into their life. We highly recommend this freeware download.
